This event is offered in hybrid format, both virtually via Zoom and in-person at BGSP.

Why do some people act without thinking? How are they a "menace" to other people--and to themselves? Why don't they learn from experience? How can we help them to GROW UP?!

 

This event will be recorded, if you do not wish to have your face in this event, simply keep your camera off. Attending in person? Masks and proof of vaccination required.

  

Presenters: 

Eugene Goldwater, M.D., Cert.Psya. is on the faculty of the Boston Graduate School of Psychoanalysis.  He has over thirty years clinical experience studying and treating the impulsive person in a variety of settings including mental health agencies and hospitals.

 

Continuing Education Objectives:

Participants will be able to: 

  1. Recognize impulsive behavior and its potential for harm to self and others.
  2. Discuss what causes impulsive behavior and what maintains it.
  3. Explore what skills are helpful in treating an impulsive person.
  4. Discuss skills parents can use to raise children without serious impulse problems.
